February 20, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

WHERE: Online
WHEN: February 20, 2021
FEE: $100

Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention is a high level overview of trauma informed caregiving. This is six hours of intensive training on February 20, 2021 for caregivers to learn how to support children who have experienced loss and trauma. This course is ideal for individuals who care for children who are adopted, in the foster care system or who have experienced trauma.

Developed by the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development (ICD), TBRI is holistic, trauma-informed, attachment and evidence based to provide practical strategies for caring for children who have experienced loss and trauma. All research and material is copyright of ICD.

This one day training will be hosted by Sharon Kiers and Sarah McIntyre, the founders of Big Little Heroes. Both Sarah and Sharon have first hand experienced the struggles and joys that caregivers of children who have experienced trauma face. They are passionate about partnering with families who are parenting children who have experienced any form of trauma.  We believe that healing is possible, through hard work and investment. We want your child and family to thrive not just survive and enjoy healthy relationships with each other.

Some main concepts that are covered in this training are:
  1. Connecting with your child
  2. Attachment cycle
  3. Responding to difficult behaviors
Once the introduction to TBRI training is complete, participants can dive further into the topics by taking the in-depth training modules.

The course content has been developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (ICD) and all research and material is copyright ICD. Sharon Kiers, MSW, RSW, our training facilitator, has studied under the team at ICD, has been certified as a TBRI Practitioner and is licensed to provide this TBRI Caregiver Training.
